Osun workers’ welfare our priority – HoS

Osun State Head of Service, Mr Ayanleye Aina has urged workers to continue to be committed and dedicated to the course of moving the State forward through their various roles in the Civil Service.
Aina added that the State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke will not renege on his promises to ensure that every Osun State worker is comfortable.
The Head of Service stated this while declaring open the 2024 edition of the annual seminar for labour leaders in the State.
He added that the Governor will follow to the letter every promise made to Osun workers as displayed through the approval of the 2023 staff promotion for eligible workers as well as payment of half salary arrears owed workers.
Aina also commended the Governor for being consistent with the payment of N15,000 and N10,000 as palliatives to active and passive workers respectively.
In a lecture delivered by the Chairman, Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, Mr Hashim Abioye who spoke on the “Role of Labour Movement In The Political Development and Democratic Enrichment of Nigeria in the 21st Century” he maintained that labour leaders should be more focused on national development.
Abioye explained that the core mandate of labour movement is underscored by the struggles for democratic values such as human rights, welfare, wage, equality and equal franchise.
In an address, the Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Osun State, Comrade Christopher Arasopo identified labour unions as tools to fight for the welfare of public servants and to negotiate with government on progress and development.
He urged all labour unions in the State to close ranks and work together for the benefit of all and sundry.
Earlier, the Chairman, National Joint Negotiating Council,Osun State council, Comrade Olasunkanmi Akindele commended the State Governor,Senator Ademola Adeleke for keeping to his promises on workers’ welfare, stressing that workers have never had it so good under any government.
