The Vice Chancellor of Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH) Prof. Robert Ogunduyile has commended members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), OSUSTECH branch for their giant strides in uplifting the standard of the institution.

Ogunduyile gave this commendation at the public lecture/ground breaking ceremony of the Union Secretariat complex.

He also lauded the state government led by Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) for its unflinching support for the university

The Vice Chancellor equally appealed to the state government not to lower its efforts at making the university a place of academic excellence.

“This is an epoch making occasion and I’m very happy to witness it. I have to travel back from where I was so as not to miss this great occasion. “

“The school management is always happy about the ways you conduct yourselves even in the time of war. I congratulate SSANU for this giant stride and I believe that other unions will take a cue from it,” he said.

The Vice Chancellor however appealed to SSANU for more understanding mostly on the issue of welfare packages.

In his welcome address, Chairman of SSANU, OSUSTECH branch, Comrade Dayo Temola described the occasion as very symbolic despite the sundry challenges which have confronted the university from its inception.

Comrade Dayo commended the present administration of Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, for his promises and support in human and infrastructural development especially the newly constructed 2.5 Km access road.

“We commend the efforts of the present government in it’s strives to fulfill the dream of its founding fathers.

I am glad to announce that SSANU has continued to live to its expectations as evidenced in a number of achievements recorded through our effective negotiations,” he added.

In his keynote address, the Guest Speaker, Mr. Dayo Lumuwagun, a chartered account delivered a lecture titled “Financial Intelligence for True Financial Freedom”.

Lumuwagun described financial intelligence as knowledge and skills gained from understanding finance and accounting principles.
