Ondo state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, said his administration has made huge investments in agriculture as enshrined in the REDEEMED Agenda, even as he promised to sustain ongoing private sector-driven economy by providing enabling environment for investors to thrive.

Akeredolu, however, called on citizens of the Sunshine State to have deep interest of their State at heart by coming home to invest, saying that the state remains one of the most peaceful States in Nigeria as the level of insecurity has reduced drastically since the establishment of the Western Nigeria Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps.

The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, spoke at the official commissioning of NIBANOLA Motherland, a World class Resort center situated at KM 7, Ondo-Ore Express way, Igbado, Ondo. He equally noted that the new sources of income in the world today are tourism and agriculture.

Akeredolu who also commissioned Nibby Water factory in the same location, specially commended the founders of the project, Dr Jibayo Adeyeye and his wife, Prof Olufunke Adeyeye for their massive investments in various sectors of the economy in the state.

He expressed joy that the people are buying into his administration’s vision, promising not to rest on his laurels.

The Governor praised Dr Adeyeye and his wife, Prof Olufunke Adeyeye for their patriotism stressing that if properly utilized, tourism and agriculture could provide significant wealth for the State and the country.

Earlier in his welcome speech, the promoter of the resort, Dr. Jibayo Adeyeye went down memory lane on how what is today one of the best resort in Nigeria, NIBANOLA MOTHERLAND came about.

According to him, their mission is to create a knowledge based environment in Agriculture, tourism and hospitality, while their vision is to be the world’s foremost Agro tourism resort.

Dr Adeyeye explained that apart from having government approved Master Plan, the entire property sitting on about 500 hectares of land has Certificate of Occupancy.

“NIBANOLA Motherland, this is a vision and mission conceived by my wife and I, and we have worked at it in the last three years. We started by establishing the farm about six and a half years ago. In the farm we have a poultry, and the poultry has over 60, 000 layers presently and we produce well over 1200, 000 crates of eggs everyday. We also have a Piggery there,  Cattle ranch, we have the Palm Tree Plantation, we have a Cocoa Plantation, Plantain Plantation, and we have a Kola nut plantation, he added.

In their separate goodwill messages the Osemawe of Ondo kingdom, Oba Victor Kiladejo, former Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly,  Adeyemi Ikuforiji, House of Representatives member representing Ondo East/West Federal Constituency, Abiola Makinde, former House of Representatives member, Joseph Akinlaja and others lauded the vision and initiative of Dr Jibayo Adeyeye and his wife, describing it as monumental.
