The remains of Pa Roland Olufunso Akinnodi was laid to rest at his Akinjagunla country home, Ondo last weekend .

Pa Akinnodi a catechist, was buried after a funeral mass conducted at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Ondo.

Former Parish Priest of the church, Rev. Fr. Stephen Akinnusoye in his sermon described death as inevitable in life and an end for all mortals.

Akinnusoye said that death was not the end for those who believe and live in Christ.

The Catholic priest described the death of the catechist as a painful one, saying families and friends are yet to recover from his sudden death.

He described the deceased as a lover of peace, a good man that was diligent, conscientious, hardworking, amiable and willing to help the needy.

Akinnusoye, however, charged Christians to live a life of service, saying the late catechist served Catholic Church wholeheartedly and all the people around him until his death.

Also the wife of the deceased, Mrs Bola Akinnodi described the death of her husband as a rude shock describing him as a friend, father and a jist mate that will be missed.

Speaking on behalf of others, first son of the deceased, Mr Charles Olubode Akinnodi said his father was a great man who loved his wife, children, family and friends.

He added that his late father ended the race well, saying his father’s death was a shock but accepted it because it is a transition to be with the Lord.

He was survived by his wife; Bola Akinnodi, children among whom is Olubiyi Akinnodi, a Staff of Owena Press Limited, Akure and grandchildren.

Guests were later entertained at Divine Event Center.
