Owo and Akoko Northwest Local Government Areas in Ondo State have unveiled new Supervisory Councillors and Advisers in a bid to strengthen grassroots governance and boost service delivery.

In Owo Local Government, Executive Chairman Tope Omolayo confirmed the appointments, which were approved by the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

In a statement released by the council and made available to Weekend Hope, Omolayo said the new appointees reflect the governor’s commitment to inclusive governance and grassroots development.

They are expected to serve in various supervisory and advisory capacities across Owo Constituencies I and II.

He listed the appointees for Owo Constituency I as Dr. Oyegoke Mosunmola, Ojomo Jide, Tunde Isaac, Victoria Oyekorede and Aminu Olatunbosun Rasaq, while Mrs. Amos Dupe and Mrs. Eniola Joshua will represent Owo Constituency II.

Omolayo added that the appointments are subject to ratification by the council’s Legislative Arm and will be formally presented to the House for confirmation in line with due process.

He congratulated the appointees, describing their selection as a recognition of dedication, loyalty and proven service to the people of Owo, and urged them to embrace their new roles with integrity, teamwork and accountability.

Similarly, Akoko Northwest Local Government has also appointed new Supervisory Councillors and Advisers for various wards.

In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Olagoke Adeyanju, the appointees include Shola Abiola (Ward 1), Tope Fagbemi Jacob (Ward 4), Mrs. Opeyemi Bukola Umoru (Ward 5), Babalola Oluremi (Ward 6), Owolabi Oguntuyi (Ward 7), Adeleye Olufemi Idowu (Ward 9) and Eye Grace Mojirade (Ward 10).

The statement urged the new officials to serve diligently and impartially, prioritising community development and aligning their efforts with Governor Aiyedatiwa’s “Our Ease” agenda, which focuses on good governance, effective service delivery, and socio-economic growth across Ondo State.
