Owo muslims honour Akeredolu with ‘Agbesinga’ title

Owo Muslim community has conferred the title of Agbesinga of Ondo State on Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, in recognition of his commitment to the promotion of religious harmony in the state.
Governor Akeredolu was conferred with the title at the Second Term Inauguration Jumat Service held at the Owo Central Mosque.
Conferring the title on the governor, the Chief Imam of Owo, Sheikh Ahmad Aladesawe, with other Chief Imams and Islamic clerics across the state said the governor has done well in the effort to maintain a peaceful religious coexistence in the state.
Aladesawe who is also the Secretary General of the League of Imams and Alfas in the Southwestern states of Nigeria, Edo and Delta states, called on Muslims in the state to pray for the governor as he embarks on his second tenure of a purposeful administration.
Meanwhile Governor Akeredolu while soliciting sincere support, cooperation and prayers from the people of the state has declared that his administration will consolidate on the achievement recorded during his first term in office.
Akeredolu who said he has passed through a lot of challenges in the last four years said he has deliberately ensured that the interest of the people of the state remains the focal point of his administration.
The Jumat service was attended by the high and the low in the state among whom were the new Deputy Governor, Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa and his wife, Mrs Oluwaseun Ayedatiwa, the Acting Chairman of APC in Ondo State, Engineer Ade Adetimehin, The Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, the Olubaka of Oka, Oba Yusuf Adebori Adeleye and the Olowa of Igbara One, Oba Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede and other dignitaries.
