Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has reiterated his administration’s dedication to fostering a business-friendly environment that will attract and sustain investors in the state.
Oyebanji gave the assurance during a visit to Promasidor Nigeria Limited in Lagos, where he engaged with the company’s management as part of efforts to enhance the productivity and profitability of Ikun Dairy Farm, an initiative critical to Ekiti’s agricultural sector.
The governor underscored the significance of the dairy farm, a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between Ekiti State and Promasidor, in boosting local milk production and reducing Nigeria’s dependence on imported dairy products. He assured Promasidor’s management of his government’s readiness to tackle any operational bottlenecks hindering the farm’s expansion.
Acknowledging the rising cost of production across industries, Oyebanji reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to ensuring the farm fulfills its intended purpose.
“I understand the challenges related to land, irrigation, security, and transportation logistics from Ekiti to Lagos. We are actively working on solutions to reduce production costs and enhance profitability,” he said.
He described Ikun Dairy Farm as a crucial state asset and reaffirmed Promasidor’s role as a strategic partner in Ekiti’s economic development.
In his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of Promasidor Nigeria Limited, Mr. Francois Gillet, lauded the governor’s support and commitment to public-private partnerships.
He noted that the government’s enabling policies had significantly boosted the farm’s operations, leading to a daily milk production of over 6,000 litres—a milestone that underscores the project’s economic impact and employment potential.
