Oyebanji increases subvention for tertiary institutions, judiciary, legislature

…Approves payment of 2020 leave bonus to LG workers

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has approved a significant increase in the monthly subvention to the Judiciary, Legislative arm, and state-owned tertiary institutions.
The increment, amounting to ₦438.9 million monthly, is aimed at accommodating the new minimum wage and the consequential adjustments for workers in these institutions.
Beneficiaries of the enhanced subvention include the Ekiti State Customary Court of Appeal, Ekiti State High Court of Justice, Ekiti State Judicial Service Commission, and Ekiti State House of Assembly Service Commission.
Also included are Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology (BOUESTI), Ekiti State Polytechnic, College of Health Technology, Ijero-Ekiti, and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions.
In a related development, Governor Oyebanji has approved the payment of the outstanding 2020 leave bonus to local government workers, fulfilling his promise to offset all inherited arrears of workers’ entitlements.
Reiterating his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare, the Governor assured that efforts are ongoing to clear all outstanding benefits, including gratuities, in line with the continuity and shared prosperity agenda.
He urged workers across the state to remain committed to service delivery, emphasising their strategic role in the realisation of the Ekiti Project.
