Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to reposition the state  health sector with a view to ensure efficient healthcare delivery for the people .

Oyebanji charged the  traditional rulers, as important stakeholders in the development of the state, to take ownership of all public health facilities and other government properties in their domains to ensure adequate security and safety of lives and property.

The governor spoke on Tuesday at Ijero Ekiti, Ijero Local Government Area during a session with traditional rulers in the council to discuss how to improve healthcare service delivery, especially at the primary health centres across the state and Ijero LGA area in particular.

He said, “this administration is working relentlessly at ensuring that all public health facilities across the state are up to standard, accessible and affordable to everyone. We are also committed to the welfare of staff and people of the state”.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr Oyebanji Filani, listed areas of the governor’s recent intervention to include approval for payment of hazard allowance to all categories of health workers in the state, giving facelift to most of the health facilities and as well disbursement of Medical Financial Assistance to citizens who could not afford to pay their medical bills among other achievements.

The Ajero of Ijero Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Adewole, who spoke on behalf of the monarchs, hailed the governor for prioritising the people’s welfare as he assured  of robust support and great working relationship with all traditional rulers in the local government.
