Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has officially launched the Strategic Pillar Monitoring System (SPMS), a digital platform tagged Ekiti Dashboard, aimed at enhancing government efficiency by enabling real-time and seamless monitoring of public programmes and projects to ensure value for money.
The commissioning event, which took place at the Lady Jibowu Hall, Government House in Ado-Ekiti, saw Governor Oyebanji reaffirm his administration’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and excellence in public service.
In his address, the Governor emphasised that the success of any administration depends on its capacity to effectively monitor and evaluate project implementation.
He explained that the Ekiti Dashboard will equip his government with the ability to swiftly identify challenges, allocate resources efficiently, enhance service delivery, and guarantee the timely completion of critical projects that align with his six pillars of development.
Oyebanji commended the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD), led by Dr. John Ekundayo, for the innovation in projects monitoring and evaluation.
He described the Ekiti Dashboard as a revolutionary tool that would empower citizens to actively participate in the governance process by providing them with the means to track and assess government projects from inception to completion.
This, he said, would not only promote transparency, but also help foster trust and collaboration between the government and the people by offering real-time information on the status of ongoing projects.
The governor further stressed that the initiative would enhance decision-making through data-driven insights and promote accountability across the state.
“It is with great pleasure that I stand before you today to commission the Strategic Pillar Monitoring System dashboard, an ICT infrastructure designed to ensure seamless, real-time monitoring of government programmes and projects,” Governor Oyebanji said.
Earlier, Dr. John Ekundayo, Special Adviser to the Governor on Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD), expressed gratitude to the governor for his visionary leadership and dedication to promoting transparency and accountability.
Ekundayo highlighted that the Ekiti Dashboard represents the Governor’s commitment to a transparent, efficient, and result-oriented approach to governance by leveraging data and cutting-edge technology in project management.
He urged all stakeholders to fully utilise the platform to drive positive change and contribute to populating the state’s dashboard by sharing the provided link.
The event was attended by several notable figures, including the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro; Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs) Folakemi Olomojobi; Chief of Staff, Mr. Niyi Adebayo; members of the state executive council; and heads of various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
