Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment that enables investors to thrive in the state.
Governor Oyebanji gave the assurance during a working visit to Promasidor Nigeria Limited in Lagos, as part of efforts to facilitate the expansion of Ikun Dairy Farm, a major investment in the state’s agricultural sector aimed at enhancing productivity and profitability.
Speaking during the visit, the governor emphasised the significance of Ikun Dairy Farm, which operates under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), with Promasidor.
He highlighted its potential to boost local milk production and reduce Nigeria’s reliance on imported dairy products.
He assured Promasidor’s management of his administration’s readiness to address any challenges hindering the smooth operation and expansion of the project.
Oyebanji acknowledged the rising cost of production across various sectors but reaffirmed the state government’s vision for Ikun Dairy Farm to fulfil its original purpose.
Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer of Promasidor Nigeria Limited, Mr Francois Gillet, expressed his appreciation for the governor’s visit and his support for Ikun Dairy Farm.
He described the visit as a testament to the governor’s commitment to fostering public-private partnerships in Ekiti State.
Gillet also thanked the state government for providing a conducive and business-friendly environment, which, he noted, has enabled the farm to expand its operations significantly.
He revealed that daily milk production now exceeds 6,000 litres, a milestone that not only reflects the project’s success, but also underscores its potential to contribute significantly to local economic growth and job creation.
