Osun state Governor, Gboyega Oyetola has commended the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for the policies put in place to ensure standard in the annual admission process and intakes of the tertiary institutions in the country.
This, according to him apart from safeguarding the future of the country by ensuring that only the qualified candidates are getting admitted would also improve the products of higher institutions in the quality of graduates produced annually.
Oyetola gave the commendation in Gbongan at the 2019 policy meeting on admissions to tertiary institutions in Nigeria organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The governor who was represented by his deputy, Benedict Alabi said JAMB without compromising standard has redefined the admission process through its dynamism, transparency and for ensuring quality delivery of human capacity to nation building.
Oyetola acknowledged the collaboration between the board and the Government in a quest to give quality education to the youths to enable them compete favourably with their peers anywhere in the world.
He particularly gave kudos to the body for coming up with the annual policy meeting with the heads of tertiary institutions in the country as a way of achieving a crisis free admission process in the thick of admission complexity and challenges occasioned by the huge population of candidates and technology challenges and cut throats competition among the institutions and candidates.
