The Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola has hailed the people of the state for voting candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s House of Assembly election.
The governor in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary Mr. Adeniyi Adesina said having absolute majority in the legislature will enable the government move at the pace that will fast track the development agenda of his administration.
The APC won 22 out of 26 Assembly seats whose results were declared on Sunday by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The governor while reacting to the overwhelming victory, said the outcome of the House of Assembly election is a further proof of the popularity of the party in the state, noting that nobody can describe the party’s victory in previous elections as a fluke.
Oyetola said with a steady support from the House of Assembly, there will be no inhibition for the government to deliver the democracy dividends that it promised its people during the campaigns.
He disclosed his plans for agriculture and mining, saying it will come on steam soon as the state is set to hold her First Economic Summit to launch the state into a boom.
