Oyetola signs N154.4b budget into law

Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun has signed into law the sum of N154, 406,541,400   as the fiscal proposal for 2019.

This was  made known in a statement issued on Friday in Osogbo by Adeniyi Adeshina, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.

Adeshina said the budget had recurrent expenditure as N61, 320, 327, 350 while capital expenditure was put at  N93, 086, 214,050.

He said the signing ceremony was witnessed by the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Mr Najeem Salam, Supervisory Director, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Dr Olalekan Yinusa, and the Supervisory Director, Ministry of Finance, Mr Bola Oyebamiji.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Oyetola had on Dec. 27, 2018 presented the sum of N152, 756, 088. 830 to the assembly.

But the lawmakers, while passing the bill on Feb. 14,  increased the budget to N154, 406, 541, 400.00.

Mr Kamil Oyedele, the Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation,  said the increment in the budget was to take care of the critical sectors of the economy.
