Pa Eniayewu lived a life of service, Aiyedatiwa pays tribute to late sports administrator

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo state has described late Pa Michael Eniayewu as a man who dedicated his time to the service of others while he was alive.

The governor delivered the eulogy on Friday at the funeral service for Pa Eniayewu at Oke-Owo circuit of Methodist Church Nigeria in Owo.

Represented by his deputy, Dr Olayide Adelami, the governor said, “our beloved father, Pa Eniayewu lived a life of service and was among those who made things happen in sports development in Owo, in particular and the state, in general.

“I am well aware of how he groomed young people in sports, and played a very significant role in the acquisition of land for the proposed construction of the Owo community stadium.

“His involvement in the development of the Methodist Church in Owo, as acknowledged by the Bishop is also a testament to his dedication to the service of others.

The governor seized the opportunity to speak on the recent cult clash in Owo, saying the state has zero tolerance for violence of any kind or under any guise and that government will continue to prioritize the security of life and property of the people.

In his sermon, the Bishop of Owo Diocese of Methodist Church Nigeria, Rev Willams Egbetakin, called on the people to dedicate themselves to the things of God and live to impact others while they are still alive.

He described the late octogenarian as a knight of the church, whose life should be emulated by others.
