Paramilitary holds special prayers for Ondo

It was a session of prayers for Ondo state at this year’s special prayer meeting organised by the state chapter of the Paramilitary Christian Fellowship.
The prayer session, which featured praise and worship to thank and glorify God for the sustaining peace across the state, was held at the premises of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in Akure.
Speaking at the event which coincided with the swearing in ceremony of the new executives, the State Commandant of the NSCDC, who convened the event Commander Awili Pedro, attributed the upsurge in crime to the coming elections.
His words, “There is need for us, more than ever, to pray for God’s wisdom and grace to be more responsive and security conscious in order to live up to expectations and discharge our duties.
The commandant commended the newly appointed exco members and urged them to put in their best in their respective duties.
“I commend your willingness to serve and the mind to discharge your duties with the fear of God. Ensure to strive to lift the fellowship higher and leave your mark in the best way possible,” he charged.
He assured residents of the state adequate provision of security of their lives and property, provided they are law abiding.
Also speaking at the prayer summit, the Newly installed President of the state chapter of the fellowship, Mr Kingsley Okoko, appealed to his colleagues to shun corruption and strive to live an exemplary Christian lives.
He emphasised on seeking the kingdom of God first, while every other things will follow suit.
The outgone president of the fellowship Venerable T.O Kasami, a DSP, who spoke with The Hope said the fellowship had been in existence since 2015 and that God has been faithful to the security agencies in the state and that through their prayers and mutual relationship peace reigned supreme in the state.
He told our correspondent that prayers which is the master key has helped to remove inter agencies rivalry which has always be a major problem before formulation of prayer group.
According to him, all the security agencies now see themselves as one family working to achieve a common goal which is the maintenance of law and order and protection of lives and property of the citizens.
DSP Kasami, who doubles as Chaplain of the state Police Command, said the best way of solving crime related issues in the state is for all the security agencies to work together and never to claim superiority over another, saying, “all are working to sustain the existing peace being enjoyed in the state”
