Parties ready for election

Political parties in Ondo State have expressed their readiness for the exercise.

Party leaders interviewed in Akure the state capital were looking forward to a peaceful and credible election.No fewer than 325 candidates from different political parties are jostling to occupy 26 seats in the Ondo state house of Assembly.

The election will take place in 203 wards and 3009 polling units in the state.

Political parties are making frantic efforts to edge one another considering the importance of the election.

The parties said machineries have been put in place to achieve success in the forthcoming poll.

The All Progressives Congress Chairman, Ade Adetimehin, the Peoples Democratic Party Chairman, Clement Faboye and the Social Democratic Party Chairman, Chief Korede Duyile said arrangements are in top gear.

They said series of meetings had been done as well as voter education

They called on Security and INEC officials to be neutral.

ODSG declares Friday public  holiday

Govenor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has declared today as public holiday to facilitate greater citizens mobilisation and participation in tomorrow’s states assembly elections.

The Governor who had earlier commended the people for their exemplary display of patriotism and maturity during the presidential and national assembly election said this weekend”s poll called for improved in voters turnout.

Akeredolu therefore enjoined the electorate to use the opportunity of the work-free day to prepare ahead of the democratic exercise tomorrow.
