Pastor docked for abducting teenager, woman

A 64-year-old pastor, David Anifowose, has been dragged before an Ondo Magistrates’ Court for allegedly abducting a 21-year-old woman and a teenagers.

The police brought the defendant before the court on Wednesday for kidnapping Priscilla Olorunyomi, 21 and Rohda Oluwaferanmi, 15.

The defendant committed the offence sometimes between December 2021 and  February 1, 2022 at the Whole Bible Believers Church, Valentino area in Ondo Magisterial District.

The Police Prosecutor, Gbenga Akinsulire, told the court that the defendant also abducted other children and put them in the church.

He told the court that he would call four prosecution witnesses to testify in the case,  while he applied for a date to assemble the witnesses.

Which prosecution said is contrary to and punishable under Section 361 and 249(d) of Criminal Code Cap 37 vol.1 law of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the three counts charges leveled against him.

His lawyer, Mr Orji prayed the court to grant him bail in liberal terms.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs C.E Ijeh, admitted the defendant N100,000 bail with one credible surety in like sum.

She said the surety must be resident within the jurisdiction and provide evidence of payment of tax for the current year.

She adjourned the case till February, 24,2022 for trial.
