Barring any hitch,the Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) will tomorrow, Tuesday, hold its congress to elect executive council officers into various positions in the party.
Speaking in a telephone interview with The Hope on the preparation of the party towards the congress, the Director of Media Publicity of the party, Mr Zadok Akintoye posited that all is set to ensure a hitch free congress which is to hold in Akure, the state capital.
According to him, it is an internal contest within the party where members across the state would be vying for the various positions to make the executive council.
He affirmed that members are all united towards the Congress, assuring that the party is going to conduct a free, fair and credible election.
While informing that the thirty-nine executive positions contestants are vying for, cuts across the three senatorial districts of the state,he added that there are contestants in most of the positions where the minimum of two people will slog it out for each position.
Akintoye who stated that the party held a free ,fair, and transparent gubernatorial primary election recently in the state,said that same processes culminated in that election would be applied to ensure a successful congress.
He maintained that PDP is a party that upholds democracy and will always be fair to all.
“Therefore, members commitment and loyalty to the party must be absolute.’
