PDP loyalists join APC in Akoko

It was a joyful mood for the All Progressives Congress (APC)  in Afin Akoko, hometown of the Ondo State Commissioner for Natural Resources, Alhaji Rasheed Badmus as some loyalists of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP)  in the town defected to the party during the last Eid-el- Kabir celebrations.

The leader of the group, Mr. Aliu Ogunleye, said their defection to APC was as a result of good leadership role displayed by  Alhaji Rasheed Badmus.

He described the Commissioner as a man of integrity, who has the fear of God at heart.

Ogunleye, on behalf of the decampees, promised their unalloyed support for the present administration in Ondo state towards recording a resounding success in future elections in the area.

Alhaj Badmus who thanked God for this year’s Eid-El-Kabir celebration said it was imperative for him to join his people to glorify God.

The commissioner stressed that aside from being a commissioner, it was unusual of him not to observe festive season in his home town as he affirmed that his presence means a lot to the people.

The Imam, Afin community, Alhaj Shitu Arekemase, appreciated the co-existing corporations between Christians and Muslims faithful in Akoko North West local government and Ondo state.

Imam Arekemase equally described Rasheed Badmus as a friend of the masses in Akoko North West local government. .

The Chief Imam also led the Afin Muslim community to pray for God’s protection for the Commissioner and the state governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN.
