Sunshine Queens Football Club of Akure, on Wednesday, ended the 2024 President Federation Cup with 2-0 loss to Delta Queens.

The first half of the President Federation Cup quarter final played at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, Benin City, saw the Akure based side in control of the game.

The duo of Bolaji Olamide and Nnaneme Augusta kept Delta Queens’ GoalKeeper busy with their frequent outside box strikes.

Sunshine Queens rued many goal scoring chances in the first stanza of the encounter.

The restart of the game saw both teams continued football artistry with Delta Queens scoring in the 56th minutes .

Sunshine Queens efforts to get a leveler were not successful as the Delta Queens kept it tight.

Delta Queens sealed the victory with their 90th minutes second goal.

Head Coach of Sunshine Queens, Rafiu Oseni said both teams played a very good game.

He commended her players for a job well done, saying they played according to game plans.

“We played very well, but the lucky side carried the day”, he concluded.
