Pioneer APC chairmen endorse Aiyedatiwa’s candidacy

As the All Progressives Congress (APC) prepares for the gubernatorial primary election in Ondo State, the pioneer chairmen of the APC from across the 18 local government in the state have thrown their support behind Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s candidacy.

Leading the delegation of the pioneer chairmen on a solidarity visit to the Governor’s office on Monday, Honorable Rasheed Badmus, former commissioner for physical planning and urban development, emphasized their active engagement and backing of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s vision for Ondo State.

Expressing gratitude for the leadership of the late Governor Akeredolu, Honorable Badmus highlighted the divine providence in Governor Aiyedatiwa’s emergence, affirming their unwavering commitment to his candidacy.

Honorable Badmus also urged for their inclusion in the forthcoming campaign, citing their past track record of success and their determination to secure victory for Governor Aiyedatiwa.

“We affirm our readiness to work with you, unwavering in our allegiance and firm in our resolve, free from external influence.
We want to use this opportunity to request inclusion in your forthcoming campaign because the importance of transparent party involvement can not be overlooked” he added

Similarly, Mr. Oredola Jacob, one of the party elders, expressed conviction in Governor Aiyedatiwa’s suitability for the role, urging him to prioritize reconciliation within the party and to remain steadfast in the face of opposition.

“We are pleased to be present here to align ourselves with you. It is imperative that we foster reconciliation within the party, as the party plays a pivotal role in winning elections. It’s unrealistic to expect unanimous support, but be rest assured, the majority stands in your favor. I strongly recommend involving the party in your initiatives from the primaries to the main election. We are confident in your suitability for the position, given your integrity, and we stand firmly in support of you.” he said

Responding, Governor Aiyedatiwa commended Honorable Badmus for his exemplary leadership and assured the delegation of his commitment to their cause. He pledged to uphold their trust and to ensure the active involvement of the party in his administration.

“We’ve endured countless trials together as a party, yet with each challenge, our unity grows stronger. For me, the essence of our party lies in its structure; division has no place in our collective journey. We stand united in purpose, and I want to express my profound gratitude for your steadfast commitment over the years”

“Now is the time to reap the rewards of our collective efforts. Your dedication fills me with joy, and I’m thrilled to see all of you here. I extend my heartfelt congratulations in advance, for this is our moment. Though the path ahead may seem daunting, let us remain steadfast in our pursuit of our shared goals. Our party is our home, and it’s crucial that we stand together to safeguard its integrity”

“As always, the will of the majority guides our party’s decisions, and I am committed to earning your trust. Together, we achieved success during the Akeredolu/Aiyedatiwa 2020 campaign, and I have no doubt that we can do it again”

“Patience is a virtue in politics, and my own journey serves as a testament to this. Rest assured, we will address any concerns regarding party structure and ensure that every voice is heard.”

Concluding, Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering support for the pioneer chairmen and pledged to work collaboratively with them to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence and organizational capacity.
