‘Plan for retirement, civil servants urged’

Civil servants have been charged to strive to plan early enough for their retirement so they won’t get stranded afterwards.
Ondo State Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Pastor Emmanuel Igbasan gave this charge at the Pens Down Ceremony for the retired Statistician General of the state, Mr Dayo Aregbesola and two other officers of the State Bureau of Statistics, Mr Femi Adedipe and Prince Idowu Ologunoye.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Chief Bunmi Alade, Igbasan commended the retirees for their contributions at various points in time towards achieving a collective goal for the Ondo State Bureau of Statistics.
“Civil servants should plan early for life after retirement so that they won’t have cause to regret when they eventually leave the service.”
“We would like to commend the retirees for their efforts having contributed their quotas to the development of the Ondo state Bureau of Statistics while also wishing them well in their future endeavours.”
The acting Statistician General, Mr Wole Agunbiade thanked the retirees for the services rendered to the Bureau and the Ondo State government wishing them happy and a healthy life in retirement.
“We thank the retirees for the services they rendered while at the bureau and we appreciate God that they exited the service in a glorious way.”
The former Statistician General, Mr Dayo Aregbesola while responding, praised the organizers for deeming it fit to honour the retirees even as he urged them to keep the flag flying.
