A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State, Chief Demola Ijabiyi has lauded the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his promise to appoint more commissioners into his government next month.
ljabiyi, a former member of the State House of Assembly gave the commendation yesterday while speaking with The Hope on telephone interview.
He said the plan by the governor to appoint more commissioners was laudable, even though the governor had said it won’t be as many as it was in his first term in office due to acute shortchange of funds
Akeredolu appointed only four commissioners and few Special Advisers since his inauguration for his second term in office in February.
According to him, the appointment next month will enable members of the party to inject new ideas into his government to actualise his dream for the state.
He further explained that this would ease the burden on him in serving the people of the state.
“Appointing more commissioners will prevent delay in government functions for the people” he noted
Ijabiyi made it known that the appointment of more commissioners next month by the governor was still within the ambit of the law
He said ” Akeredolu can appoint commissioners whenever he likes because constitution does not stipulate actual time to appoint commissioner.
“To an extent, he is free to appoint commissioners when he wills”
