Planned protest: Ondo Assembly Speaker, Oladiji appeals to youths
By Josephine Oguntoyinbo
The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Chief Oladiji Olamide, has appealed to Nigerian youth to jettison the proposed nationwide protest scheduled for August.
Oladiji entreated the youth to embrace dialogue in resolving issues with the authorities.
The Speaker noted that such protests in the past had ended in violence and wanton destruction of public property.
He called on parents, spiritual leaders, and public-spirited individuals and bodies to speak to the youth about the need to embrace peace in the overall interest of the country.
Oladiji expressed hope in the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying it would address all grievances and bring succor to the teeming masses of the country.
According to the Speaker, “No positive changes are accomplished on a platter of gold. There can be no gains without pains. There is, however, light at the end of the tunnel.”
Chief Oladiji noted that the radical reforms being championed by the Tinubu administration would, in the long run, benefit the Nigerian masses.
