The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has enjoined the political parties participating in the Saturday’s State House of Assembly election in Ondo State to play the game according to rules.

It further advised them not to engage in illegal activities that could undermine the election process or against the electoral act ahead of the scheduled election on March 18.

The Chairman of  IPAC in Ondo State, Prince Olaoluwa Adesanya, who stated this in an interview with The Hope called on every political party participating in the election to accommodate each other.

Adesanya called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to do the needful and improve on the last presidential and National Assembly elections.

According to him, INEC should improve on its shortcoming and make election materials available to polling units on time.

He, however, advised politicians to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship in every election, just as he noted at the end of every contest, there is always a winner and a loser.

The IPAC chairman urged all the presidential candidates in the last presidential election who are challenging the victory of President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in court to exhibit the spirit of sportsmanship and rally round the declared winner of the election to sustain the development of the country.

“Since the winner has been declared, other contestants should rally round him on how to run the government if truly they have the interest of the country in minds.

” This is our country and we don’t have anywhere to go. Losing today, does not mean you cannot win tomorrow. They should accept the result of the election as it was announced” he explained.
