Police arraign man over alleged 200 crates of stolen tomatoes

For allegedly stealing 200 crates of tomatoes valued at N6 million, a 45-year old man, Bolawa Ogunrotimi, has appeared before an Akure Magistrates’ Court.
Ogunrotimi whose address was not provided, is being charged with conspiracy and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Ajiboye Obadasa, told the court that the defendant and others at large committed the offence on September 2, 2024, at Akobo Community, Olokuta, Akure.
Obadasa alleged that Ogunrotimi and four others at large, stole the 200 crates of tomatoes, belonging to a farmer, one Richard.
He said that the offence contravened Sections 516 and 390(1) of the Criminal Laws of Ondo State, 2006.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Magistrate Damilola Sekoni granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
