Police comb Akoko forest for kidnapped victims

The Police in Ikare Akoko are now combing the forest around Auga-Akunu- Ikakumo axis of Akoko Northeast local government area of Ondo state to rescue two persons who were kidnapped in transit.
The two were kidnapped just two days after a pastor of the All Christians Fellowship Mission who was abducted in the same route secured his release from the dens of kidnappers.
According to a police source, the newly kidnapped victims were suspected to have been taken to the bush while their vehicles were abandoned at the road.
The source also disclosed that the vehicle has been removed from the scene of the kidnap.
Meanwhile, the Commander of the Ikare Akoko Police Area Command, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Razak Rauf said police will not allow criminal elements to make the area their hideouts.
The Regent of Akunu, Princess Tolani Orogun and the Alauga of Auga, Oba Samuel Agunloye appealed to government to consider the proximity and peculiarity of the two towns which share border with Akoko Edo in Edo State and beef up security in the area to check incessant kidnap cases and activities of other criminal elements in the area.
