The Joint Anti-Kidnapping and Anti-Cultism Squad of Osun State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a couple reportedly kidnapped along Oogi Ojudo in Ayedade local government area of the state.
Reports had it that some unknown gunmen abducted the couple on Monday while returning from Lagos to Osogbo.
Hope Metro learnt that the couple was waylaid and reportedly marched into the bush by their abductors .
Sources said hours after they were kidnapped, the husband escaped from their abductors, leaving his wife in the hands of the hoodlums
The spokesperson for the state police command, Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed the incident in Osogbo on Monday, assured that the police operatives are on the trail of the suspects.
She disclosed that the detectives of Anti-kidnapping and Anti-Cultism squads have been mobilized and were currently combing the bushes to secure the release of the wife .
Opalola, who assured that the rescue operation is ongoing, stated that the woman in captivity would soon be rescued.
