Police condemn officers caught receiving cash from Chinese national

The Nigeria Police Force has condemned in strong terms the unprofessional and unethical conduct of its officers seen in a viral video receiving money from a Chinese national.
The disturbing footage, which has since gained traction on social media platforms, captured officers allegedly engaging in a cash exchange, an act the Force described as unacceptable and contrary to its professional standards.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement made available to Weekend Hope, described the act as gross misconduct that negates the ethics, values, and operational standards of the Force.
“The Force maintains a zero-tolerance policy for unprofessional behaviour and all forms of misconduct that undermine public trust and confidence,” the statement read.
Adejobi further disclosed that the officers involved have been identified and are currently undergoing disciplinary procedures to address the incident.
In light of the development, the Police urged individuals and organisations who engage police personnel for special duties, such as escorts and guard services to desist from acts that could compromise the integrity of officers or drag the image of the Force into disrepute.
The Force reiterated its commitment to upholding discipline and restoring public confidence through strict enforcement of professional conduct among its personnel.
