Security agents on Saturday dispersed some group of protesters who converged to block Ore-Benin expressway.
The protesters staged a protest over President Buhari’s new directive of authenticating only the old 200 naira note as legal tender.
When The Hope visited the scene, protesters burnt tyres to stop vehicular movement along the route, while some were seen playing football on the expressway.
Arriving the scene, police personnel and Amotekun Corps shot sporadically into the air to lay off protesters and ease the flow of vehicles along the expressway as at the time of filing this report.
Hope Metro recalled that a protest was staged yesterday at the same spot and it lasted for hours before normalcy was restored.
