Police moves to rescue kidnapped Osun traditionalist’s wives

Osun State Police Command said it has deployed tactical squads to rescue the wives of the traditionalist, Oba Abdul Adetoyese Opakisan ,the Ogboni Agbaye and Awise Iwase of Yorubaland, who were reportedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed the incident, said efforts were being intensified to rescue the wives of the traditionalist unhurt from the kidnappers’ den.
According to her, the special tactical squads are already combing the bushes to track down the criminals, assuring that they will soon be nabbed and brought to face prosecution.
Recall that tragedy struck on Sunday, as the traditionalist, Oba Abdul Adetoyese Olakisan, reportedly died in a car accident while trailing the gunmen that kidnapped his wives.
Our correspondent leant that some gunmen, had invaded the residence of Oba Olakisan, at Imesile, Obokun local government area of Osun State, where they whisked away his two wives to an unknown destination.
It was gathered that the traditionalist reported the case at the police station immediately the incident happened.
The deceased, in his efforts to track the kidnappers went alongside a policeman to trail the abductors of his wives .
Reports said while Oba Olakisan and the policeman were returning from the search, they had a lone accident and died on the spot.
Opalola confirmed that Oba Ogboni, a policeman and one other woman were involved in the road crash.
The PPRO hinted that they were all rushed to the hospital where they were confirmed dead.
The police spokesperson said, “About the incident related to Ogboni Agbaye, the man and a policeman, who is the OC of Oke-Mesi were in a vehicle with one other woman, while they were returning from where they went to search for those that were kidnapped.
Policemen are , however, still inside the forest to rescue those that were kidnapped,”she stated.
