Police nab 3 burglars in Ondo

Nemesis has  caught  up with  three armed  men suspected to have frequently raided shops overnight and carted away goods in Ondo town.

 Ondo State police command said the suspects were apprehended  by  a team of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the State  Command, during one of their operations along Oke-Agunla street  in Ondo .

The  suspect identified as Olaijide Ojo, 26, Ugochuku Okeke, 30 and Olaniya Ropo, 32, were said  to have allegedly  broken into a shop in Moferere area of Ondo town, when the long hands of nemesis caught up with them.

The Hope Metro gathered that, the suspects  were  caught while raiding the shop of  one Mr Akinola  Olanrewaju, at No 10, Mobolade Street,  Oke- Agunla, Ondo.

It was learnt that unknown to the hoodlums, residents of the area, who were at alert, had been keeping vigilance to track down the culprits.

Immediately the suspects reportedly  began their operation, some of the residents headed straight to the Yaba Division, in  Ondo town, to report.

The police authorities said their men swung into action, following the information by some residents of the area  who reported  frequent cases of robbery attacks.

The Hope Metro further gathered that upon arrest, some items like an Infinix Hot 4 phone valued at N34,000, and  the sum of N76,000 including a shot gun, were found on the suspect  at Sokoti area of Moferere  main market in Ondo state.

Upon police investigation, a locally  made gun cut to single size was recovered from the suspects, while one Mr Olaniyan Ropo and two others were later arrested.

The Ondo State Public Relations Officer who confirmed the arrest  said the suspects  had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), for further investigation.
