Police nab armed robbers terrorising residents in Osogbo

Residents of Mallam Tope area, in Osogbo can now heave a temporary sigh of relief, as suspected armed robbers unleashing terror in the area have been arrested by the police.
The suspects; Samson Olamilekan, 25 and Kazeem Olaide, 22, were arrested at Mallam Tope area in Osogbo by police detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department in the Command.
Police sources told The Hope Metro that the suspects had on several occasions robbed the residents with locally made pistols, charms and some assorted weapons in Osogbo.
It was gathered that the duo were arrested as they were about to rob a victim at the area with one locally made pistol and one live cartridge.
The Commissioner of Police, Osun State Police Command, Olawale Olokode, while addressing journalists at the Command headquarters, noted that the suspects were arrested by the police detectives and operatives of the command.
He disclosed that the suspects, during discreet investigation had earlier robbed one Jimoh Omotosho of N10, 000 at about 8.30am on same date and location.
While fielding questions from journalists, the suspects said, “We went to greet one Honourable who had served under PDP in his house at Mallam Tope area.
“The Honourable has a twin son who is into Yahoo and we went to beg for money from them. We don’t know the name of the honourable.’’
