Police nab burglars in Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command said it has arrested scores of suspected burglars in different parts of Ado-Ekiti metropolis, the capital of Ekiti State.
The police said the suspects were apprehended by the operatives of the Rapid Respond Squad (RRS) attached to the command and currently detained at the office.
The Hope Metro gathered that the suspects, mostly youths and in their early thirty’s were nabbed at their different hideouts in Ajilosun, Idemo, Ajebandele and Adebayo areas within Ado-Ekiti metropolis.
According to the Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, Mr Sunday Abutu,ASP, the arrest of the suspects was made possible based on intelligence gathering, following complaints from victims whose houses were burgled by the suspects.
Abutu identified the suspects as Akinyemi Ojo, Akanle Olaniyi, Adebayo Jamiu, Nwafor Ifeanyi, Adewumi Ademola, Abdullahi Musa, Sunday Tomiwa, Yaya Yinusa and Femi Dipo to mention a few.
Items recovered from the suspects include; one big mattress, set of wooding bed, Royal freezers, one Senwei medium generator, standing fans of different brands, fourteen generator coils, nine dismantled generator blocks, ten pairs of palm slippers as well as men and ladies wears.
The PPRO said, “Some of the suspects were traced to their hideouts, while others were arrested while making efforts to sell the stolen items.
He explained that the arrested suspects had all confessed to the commission of the crime and would be arraigned in court as soon as investigation was completed on the matter.
