Homicide detectives of Ondo State Police Command have commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the murder of three persons at Aratusi area in Akure, the ondo state capital.
The victims were found dead in their apartment in circumstances yet to be determined.
The Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, a Deputy Superintendent of Police DSP Funmilayo Odunlami said the police was probing the cause of their death.
She explained that men of Homicide detectives from the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department SCIID have take over the case.
The Hope Metro learnt that two lovers, identified as Ojo Akinro, Mary lgwe and their friend Lamidi Sheriff were found in the toilet where their assailants dumped them while the main door to the house was locked.
Reports had it that Mary, a nurse who was staying with her boyfriend was pregnant before her death.
A source within the area disclosed that one of the victims, Ojo Akinro had relationship with some yahoo boys and that deals between them might have led to the attack on them by those suspected to have been undercut in the deal.
It was gathered some of their friends became apprehensive after series of calls to the phones of all the three victims were not answered.
“They went to their house only to find the front door locked and had to break it open in order to gain access into the apartment only to discover the remains of the three people in the toilet after searching all the rooms.
“It was the alarm raised by them that attracted the neighbours and other occupants of the flats in the building.
One of their neighbours explained that the killers came through the back door, escaped through the front door and took away the key.
The source noted that if not for their friends that were worried about their whereabout and came looking for them, their corpses would have decomposed inside the toilet.
“Only God knows what went wrong between them that they just decided to kill the three of them just like that.
“It was unbelievable when their corpses were brought out by the police and taken to the mortuary. The lovers lived together, many people even believed they are young couple.
“Their killers came through the back door, murdered them and decided to lock up their bodies inside the toilet to decompose.
“The back door was met opened. Their laptops, telephones and other gadgets belonging to the deceased. were still intact inside their flat when some of their friends broke down the front door to enable them enter into their flat.
“We suspect that they were killed by yahoo boys and that means they must have swindled them and they decided to silence them.
The PPRO, however confirmed the death of the three persons including the two lovers saying is a pure case of murder.
She stated that their bodies were dumped in the toilet by their killers when police visited the scene of the crime.
She assured that no stone would be left unturned to bringing the perpetrators to justice.
