Ondo State Police Command said it has drafted security men to all banks areas across the state, to sustain the 24-hour aggressive patrol in order to beef up security in the state.
It would be recalled that shortly after the unfortunate robbery incident in Idoani, Ose Local Government Area of the state, the police commissioner, Mr Undie Adie, directed the postings of armed police detectives to the financial institutions in the state to prevent any possible breakdown of law and order.
The spokesman of the command, Mr Femi Joseph, a Superintendent of Police (SP), who disclosed this to The Hope Metro in a chat said the presence of security personnel being witnessed around the banks was part of the measures taken by the command to forestall any breach of peace and also to send warning signal to hoodlums who may want to test the powers of the police in the state.
“We have restrategised and our men are everywhere . And we have adopted security measures capable of forestalling any possible breakdown of law and order in the state.
“Our advice is for all and sundry to be vigilant and report any strange movement of individuals or persons to us. “As I speak to you, areas like Alagbaka and the popular Oja-Oba market are under surveillance. Our men are on patrol. So, there is no cause for alarm.
“We have been advising members of the public to assist us with useful and adequate information that would help us tackle crime and criminality happening in the state.
“Police are not magicians. We can always succeed in our efforts to rid the society off crime, if everybody is involved in the issue bordering on security,” Joseph said.
