The police and Local vigilante operatives have rescued one out the three abducted victims who were reportedly kidnapped in Iwo town area of Osun State last Friday.
Reports said the police and the hunters engaged the suspected kidnappers in a gun duel and rescued one out of three persons abducted.
The Hope Metro had reported that the victims were kidnapped by suspected Fulani herders at a settlement near Iwo town in the state.
It was gathered that the hoodlums, after abducting the victims, reached out to their families’ members, demanding for payment of ransom in dollars.
Confirming the development, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Yemisi Opalola, told our correspondent the effort of the police and local vigilante operatives led to the rescue of one of the victims whom she identified as Adams Ojuola.
She assured that the two remaining victims will soon be released, while she commended the efforts of the local hunters, saying the job of effective crime detection and control is for all and not for the police alone.
