Political office holders have been charged to give more qualitative and sincere services to humanity so as to make meaningful impact on the people they are serving.

The Anglican Bishop of Akure Diocese, Most Revd. Dr. Simeon Borokini gave the charge on Monday at a thanksgiving service to mark the 50th birthday of the Ondo State Deputy Governor, Hon. Agboola Ajayi held at the Government House Chapel, Akure.

Borokini said politicians as well as public office holders occupying leading positions should be ready to give sacrificial and selfless services to impact positively on the lives of the people under them.

While noting that every human being is a board of passage on earth, the cleric said: “Position comes and goes, no matter the position you are occupying today, you will definitely leave  someday,, so bear that in mind whenever you are in charge of authority or power.

“Whatever you are doing now is being written as history and the people around you will testify to it  when you leave, hence the need for you to strive to affect lives and make people feel your positive impacts in whatever capacity of leadership you are”, he urged.

In his goodwill message, the Senator  representing Ondo Central Senatorial District, Sen. Tayo Alasoadura described  the Deputy Governor as a humble and God fearing man who according to him believes that whatever he has attained in life is solely through the grace of God.

Alasoadura who noted that “the more you grow higher in age,  the more responsibility is committed to you “, advised the celebrant as he attained golden jubilee to remain humble and ask for more God’s wisdom to be able to handle issues, not only in governance or politics, but also in his family both immediate and extended.

The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun, said the celebrant is humility personified and a committed and dedicated man to the work of God, adding that he is a man of special grace, who accomplished a great vision of building a house for God in his home town.

The Deji of Akure kingdom, HRM Oba Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo stated that Ajayi’s humility is one of his major character that endeared him to the people within and outside the state, adding that he is a man worthy of emulation and respect because of his achievements and relationship in the political circle.

From his hometown, the Kalasuwe of Apoi land, Oba Adejimola Amusaghan, Lawe II who graced the occasion eulogised Ajayi, describing him as a true son and a pride of Apoi  land and prayed for him to continue to prosper and record more remarkable achievements in his political endeavours.

In separate testimonies, the Commissioner for Finance, Mr Wale Akinterinwa and his counterparts in Youth and Sports Development, Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye and Environment, Mr. Funso Esan, described the celebrant as a good team player and consummate politician who is very humble, calm, loyal and passionate about what he believes in.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Hon Olugbenga Edema said Agboola Ajayi had impacted positively on the lives of so many people in the state since he  ventured into politics, wishing him many more fruitful years in life.

Responding, the celebrant, Agboola Ajayi expressed joy at his golden jubilee celebration, ascribing all that he has got and become in his entire life to God’s kindness.

Ajayi while appreciating the people for their wishes, prayers as well as support for  him, assured that he would continue to contribute his quota to the development of the state and the nation in general.
