Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,  has charged Nigerians of different faiths to keep praying for the country for sustained peace and harmony to engender development.

Akeredolu gave the  charge while playing host to the leadership of the Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim led by the Prelate of the church, His Most Eminence, Baba Aladura, Dr. David Bob-Mannuel, in his office in Akure, the state capital.

The governor who was represented by his deputy, Hon. Agboola Ajayi attributed the continued peaceful co-existence in Nigeria to the prayers of men of God in the country.

While appreciating the roles of the religious leaders, the governor urged them not to relent in their efforts to promote desired development.

Akeredolu noted that “If you travel abroad or watch the television and see what is going on in other countries, you will see that there is nothing compared with peace.

Earlier, the Prelate of the order, Dr. David Bob-Mannuel said the visit was part of the routine missionary exercise of the church as well as to pray for the state.

He admonished Christians and Nigerians at large to fear God, saying the fear of God is the panacea to the challenges being faced in the country, urging individuals to seek righteousness first while God would add other things.

Bob-Mannuel charged Christians to exhibit the life of Jesus Christ in all their dealings, saying Christianity is a practice, not a mere mouth confession.

The cleric used the occasion to pray for the government and the people of Ondo State and the country, Nigeria.
