Pray to avert disasters, Adeboye tells Nigerians

By Bukola Olamona

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has urged Nigerians to intensify prayers to God to forestall the occurrence of natural disasters in the country this year.

Adeboye made the call during the April edition of the Holy Ghost Night held on Friday at the Redemption Camp, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, and monitored by Weekend Hope.

The cleric noted that although the year is gradually progressing, Nigerians must not relent in seeking divine intervention, warning that some of the negative predictions made at the beginning of the year might still come to pass if prayers are not intensified.

“It is not yet over. We must pray more so that all the negative prophecies declared at the beginning of the year will not be fulfilled,” he said.

He urged the faithful to pray specifically against flooding, saying even areas that had never witnessed flood in the past could be affected.

Adeboye also called for prayers against fire outbreaks and air accidents, warning that vigilance and spiritual commitment were needed more than ever.
