Prayers pour in for Akeredolu’s wellness

With a simple voice seeking an uncanny favour from God, religious groups across the divide, monarchs and eminent Nigerians rose from their prayer mats on Sallah day pleading for divine intercessory prayer for ailing Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
The intercessors, one after the other prayed that God would grant the Governor currently on medical leave in Germany a quick and full recovery from his sick bed.
In his Sallah message, the Acting Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa urged Muslim faithful in the state to use the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir celebration to pray for sound mind and excellent health for Akeredolu.
In a similar tone, traditional rulers in the state convened a prayer session at the Cocoa Conference Centre, Akure to seek the face of God for Akeredolu.
The Christian prayer was led by the Olujigba of Ijigba, Akure, Oba (Rev’d.) Luyi Rotimi. who prayed God to grant the Governor a quick recovery so that he can continue the good work he is doing. The Monarch who quoted various scriptures said that there are abounding examples where God healed the sick irrespective of the cause and kind of illness.
The Abodi of Ikale, Oba G.B Faduyile led other traditional rulers to offer traditional prayers for the Governor whom he described as a pride to Ondo State and the country at large.
The Chief Imam of Akure who was represented by the Imam of Gaga Community, Alhaji Yusuf Agbesinga led Islamic prayer for the Governor and the state at large.
The monarchs led by Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo decided to come together to seek the face of God collectively having offered prayer at their different domain at different time.
Oba Aladetoyinbo described the Governor as a fearless leader who had done so much for the state in terms of security and infrastructure. Therefore, what the Obas can do at this critical time is to pray for him so that he can continue the good works that he is doing in the State and Nigeria.
He frowned at the unnecessary tension by people who wanted to use the Governor’s absence to settle political issues as he urged them not to plunge the state into any form of unnecessary and avoidable upheaval.
Also workers in the Ondo State Public Service held simultaneously across ministries, departments and agencies offered special prayers for God’s intervention.
Head of Service, Pastor Kayode Ogundele, expressed confidence in the efficacy of the joint prayers of the workers and the eventual quick recovery of the governor.
According to him, the prayer sessions held by workers simultaneously in all MDAs demonstrated the avowed love of workers in the state for Gov. Akeredolu, believing that the governor would soon come back to the state hale and hearty.
In Owo, the Chairman of League of Imams and Alfas, Ondo State, Sheikh Ahmad Aladesawe, who led the prayers at Eid charged muslims to pray for President Tinubu in his efforts to stabilise the downward economic trend in the country.
The cleric also prayed for the Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for a speedy recovery from his health issues.
Chief Imam of Akure, Alhaji Abdulhakeem Yayi-Akorede at the Muslim prayer ground in Akure enjoined the faithful to pray for the quick recovery of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in order to continue with his good administration in the state.
… As Owo Progressive intercedes
Member of All Owo Progressive Development Association otherwise called forum on Thursday held a special prayer session in Akure to inteercde for the ailing Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
At the session led by Rev. Soji Gbadebo, a former Permanent Secretary in the state, the intercessors passionately called on God to cancel any ancestral curse on the Governor and his family.
Gbadebo who expressed concern why the second term of indigenes of Owo who had been governors were always fraught with grave challenges despite their excellent conducts while in office.
He asked for God’s mercies and compassion on the ailing governor by annulling evil pronouncements and machinations on him and his family.
“By the Blood of Jesus, I canceled all evil antics on our amiable and hard working Governor today and we pray that he will come and give testimony to the awesome power of the Lord,” he stated.
The President of the Association, Lady Yemi Mahmud, a former Commissioner for Women Affairs, said the prayer will be one of the series to be held for the Governor.
