Priest commits suicide, as two die after drinking local concoction in Ondo

The Ondo police command have confirmed the death of two persons who died at Ipe-Akoko in Akoko South East local government area of Ondo State after allegedly drinking a substance identified as concoction (Agbo) in local parlance.

According to police report, a chief came and reported at Isua police station that one Mr Ojulewa prepared a native concoction (Agbo) which he drank with two others and that thereafter, the trio started vomiting.

The ugly incident happened in the ancient town of Ipe-Akoko during the celebration of ‘Ibogbe’ age group festival over the weekend.

“The statement also revealed, that while on their way to the hospital, the duo of Ojulewa Alex and Alonge Samuel gave up the ghost while Adu Johnson is in coma and receiving medical treatment.

An eyewitness account told newsmen that two persons died as a result of concoction ‘Agbo’ they drank including the maker of that concoction and a middle-aged man who came for the festival from Abuja.

As people of the community were ruminating and lamenting in sober mood over the mysterious death of the two men, another man in the town, a retired Anglican Priest committed suicide in his house at Ipe Akoko.

According to the Police report, investigation is ongoing to unravel the mystery behind the mysterious death of the three men.
