Princess Oyewumi Akinbosotu Installed as Regent of Ijigba

Following the demise of the Olujigba of Ijigba, Oba Reverend Luyi Rotimi, Princess Oyewumi Rotimi Akinbosotu has been installed as the regent of the community.
The regent was decorated by the Elemo of Ijigba, High Chief Ilesanmi, and the Erelu of Akure Land, High Chief Mrs. Mercy Adekanye.

The emergence of Oyewumi Akinbosotu as regent was witnessed by the Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Dr. Gbenga Fasua, who was represented by the Secretary of the Council, Mrs. Adeola
Rosemary Fynch.

Dr. Fasua advised community leaders and chiefs to give the regent their full support and the honour she deserves. Citing the Yoruba adage “Ase loba npa,” he urged them to obey her regardless of her age.
He commended the community chiefs and the royal family for allowing the presence of God in the palace.
He stated that the good works of the late king would ensure that his name is never forgotten.
The family head of the late Olujigba, Prince Bola Rotimi, appreciated God for His mercy over the family and admonished everyone to continue in love and in the fear of God for the prosperity of the community.
In her response, the regent thanked all the community chiefs for the support they gave her father during his reign and urged them to continue their good work by supporting her to achieve more during her brief tenure.

She promised to work towards ensuring the availability of social amenities such as good roads, water, and other essential services.
The regent also appreciated the Chairman of Akure South Local Government for his support.
