Prof. Ogen, friends donates centre to OSUSTECH

The immediate past Provost of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, Professor Olukoya Ogen and his friends, have donated a Students’ Relaxation Centre to the Ondo State University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa.

Speaking at the foundation laying ceremony of the building, Ogen said what he and his colleagues have done was in the spirit of giving back to the society.

He therefore called on well-to-do indigenes of the university’s catchment area to come to the assistance of the university in the area of infrastructural development.

According to him, government alone must not be expected to provide all the developmental needs of the institution.

Earlier, the Chairman of the University’s Governing Council, Prof. Akinbo Adesomoju had described the donation as timely.

According to him, with such a facility in place, students can have a befitting place to relax after lectures.

Appreciating the donors, Adesomoju stated that he was very impressed and extremely happy with the donation.

“I am very delighted because Prof. Ogen and his team have done something great and monumental. It is one of those things I have been looking forward to since I came into office as the Governing Council Chairman.

“Why I am particularly impressed is that without being prompted and despite their meagre resources as salary earners, they decided to go this far and donate towards the upliftment of our University”, Prof. Adesomoju remarked.

The Chairman observed that the donors would be the first set of people to donate to the University apart from the State Government and other government agencies.

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Sunday Roberts Ogunduyile proclaimed that the donation is an encouragement to the management.
