Projects: ODHA advises LGs on judicious use of funds

Ondo House of Assembly has charged Local government authorities to ensure judicious use of funds allocated for various projects and implement according to specifications.
It also urged the Executive, Legislative and Staff of Local Governments to work in synergy, peace and harmony in the interest of the councils.
Chairman ad-hoc Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and the Deputy Speaker, Samuel Aderoboye who led other Members to Akure North and South Local Government areas, said only an atmosphere of peace and cooperation can development take place.
Aderoboye informed that the visit was to appraise the capital projects done to ensure accountability, prudency and see that they were projects that will add value to the masses.
He maintained that they should work as a team for the growth of the council and ensure that the peace being enjoyed in the State was replicated at the grassroots.
Aderoboye informed that the Committee would submit its reports and recommendations to the whole House on its findings and assessment.
Other members told the leadership of the Councils and other Stakeholders to lead by example as the visit was not to witch hunt but to ensure that the Local Government administrations were run smoothly.
The lawmakers emphasised the importance of vibrant Local Government administration at complimenting the State Government’s efforts at developing the state.
The Committee members were later conducted round various projects embarked upon by the councils.
The Chairmen of Akure North Local Council Bankole Ogbesetore who was represented by his Vice, Anthony Adebusola and his counterpart in Akure South, Gbenga Olaniyi thanked the Legislator for performing their duties, particularly at ensuring peace in the councils.
