Sunshine Stars Technical Adviser, Kennedy Boboye has described the Ondo State prolific young star, Promise Awosanmi as the joker of the team.
Awosanmi has scored three goals in five matches under the tutelage of Kennedy Boboye since taking over from former coach, Edith Agoye in the second stanza of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
He scored the first goal in the 1-1 draw against Kwara United in Akure, his second goal was the lone goal scored in the 5-1 thrashing by Kano Pillars, while his third was against heartland in Awka.
Boboye in a chat with newsmen at the Ondo State Sports complex, Akure, after his side defeated Plateau United 3-1, said Awosanmi is doing fantastically well for Sunshine Stars by getting involved in almost all the goals we have so far scored since the beginning of the second stanza of the league.
He said : “Awosanmi is a very good push for national team with his outstanding performances.”
The former Heartland of Owerri said Plateau United is a very good and tactical side saying that is why they are on top of the league, but we just have to play with our own style which gave us the needed victory.
“If we had played out of position, they would have punished us , we have our game plan and it worked for us.
He said: “No emotion playing against my former team, that is football for us, Sunshine Stars is my home now, for now I’m done and dusted with Plateau United.”
Boboye refused to give clear response to whether the 2013 Nations Cup winner, Geoffrey Oboabana will start the next match for Sunshine Stars against Katsina United.
He said we need to bring Oboabana back into the game gradually, he played just five minutes today, next game maybe 15 or 20 minutes, because he has not being in Nigeria league for quite some time.
Sunshine Stars will next week Wednesday, host Kastina United in the Nigeria Premier Football League mid week game at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure.
