The Owalare of Ilare-Ijesa in Obokun Local Government area of the state, Oba Adejoro Otebolaku, disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in his palace.
The monarch said the three-man gang in the town invaded houses on April 13, 2019, stole about N150,000 and carted away some valuable items including phones, noting that the gang had been terrorising the community for the past five years.
He disclosed that members of the gang were nabbed through the tracking of phones stolen by the bandits in the town.
He noted that justice delayed is justice denied, saying ,”if the suspects are prosecuted promptly by the police and brought to book by the court, it will serve as a deterrent to other criminals in the town, especially those who are now at large.”
Also narrating his ordeal, the Asiwaju of Ilare, Chief Oyedeji Olajubu said his house had been raided in the town on several occasions by the suspected bandits, while property worth millions of naira were stolen by the serial burglars.
Also, a former staff of the Nigeria University Commission, Sir Boye Oyewande lamented that his electricity generating machine was vandalized and other valuable items were stolen in the house when the boys ransacked his house.
When newsmen visited the town, no fewer than 11 people testified to the nefarious activities of the gang who are now cooling their feets at the Criminal Investigative Department of the State Police Command since two weeks ago.
Some of the residents of the town who testified that their houses were broken included Messers Amos Akinyemi, Wole Ekundayo, Gabriel Adediran, Wole Ojo, Mrs Regina Idowu and many others.
