Protest: Adeleke shuts schools

The Osun State government has instructed all schools in the state, both public and private, to close by July 31, 2024. This decision came in anticipation of the #EndBadGovernance protests, calling for economic reforms and better welfare policies under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Making the announcement, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Mr. Muritala Jimoh, urged parents and guardians to ensure their children’s safety during the closure.

“This is to inform the general public, particularly parents, guardians, and heads of public and private schools in the state, that due to the planned nationwide protests, all schools are directed to proceed on the third term vacation from Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

Parents and guardians are advised to ensure the safety of their wards during the vacation,” the statement said.
