‘Provide children’s needs for effective learning’

Parents and guardians in Ondo State have been admonished to supply everything that their children need to learn effectively as schools across resumed across Ondo state for the 2021/2022.
Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology,
gave the advice while monitoring schools’ resumption in Akure.
She called on them to provide relevant textbooks, writing materials and other things for their wards as it would enhance learning.
Amuda who commended them for their commitment in ensuring quality education for their children, called on them not to relax.
While urging the students to reciprocate the gesture of government and their parents in providing for them, Amuda called on them to take their studies more seriously adding that the holiday is over.
“We want to use this opportunity to appreciate our parents for their commitment in ensuring quality education for their children and we want to advise them to provide everything they need so that they can learn effectively in school, she said.
Amuda who also commended teachers and schools administrators in the state for imparting the right knowledge to the students, described them as role models and life moulders.
She advised them not to rest on their oars in ensuring effective teaching and learning in schools across the state.
Amuda who described the turn out of students and teachers on the first day of resumption as impressive, charged principals of schools where low turn out of students were recorded to begin principal’s test to draw the attention of the students.
She expressed disappointment over non adherence of most schools visited to COVID 19 guidelines laid down by the ministry in most schools visited adding that teachers should always wear their face masks so that the students will follow suit.
She also urged the schools authorities to put hand washing spots in strategic places and called on parents to give face masks and pocket sanitizer to their children.
Students were settling down and enrollment into JSS1 was on-going in almost all the schools visited.
While some promised to start the principal’s test immediately the students settle down that day, some said it would be done later in the week.
